Raegan Revord: Coming Out, Young Sheldon Role, FAQs

Born: January 3, 2008 · Known for: Missy Cooper in Young Sheldon · Pronouns: they/them (as of 2025)

Nine rows, one pattern: the public record is strong on career dates and thin on private-life details.

Is Raegan Revord still female?

The direct answer is no, according to PinkNews: Revord publicly identifies as nonbinary, and the word “still” assumes a category they no longer use.

Raegan Revord’s coming out as nonbinary

• PinkNews reported in September 2025 that Revord had come out as nonbinary.
• Their social-media pronouns reportedly changed to they/them in January 2025, according to PinkNews’s report.
• IMDb’s news aggregation page traces earlier discussion to an Entertainment Tonight interview but does not link a full transcript.

None of this implies a medical history. Nonbinary identity is a personal designation, not a procedure, and the official biography offers no further details about transition.

Why did Raegan Revord cut her hair?

The honest answer: a haircut is not a coming-out document. Treating it as one invents a narrative the sources never confirm.

Public reaction and support

• PinkNews covered the story as a positive identity update, with no reported backlash in their article.
• Most coverage, including The List’s retrospective, still leads with Revord’s Young Sheldon role.
• No verified statement from former co-stars about the coming-out appears in the available record.

The implication: this is not a scandal, it’s a personal update. The professional response is to use the pronouns reported by PinkNews and let the actor lead their own story.

What is Raegan Revord doing today?

The shortest accurate answer: Revord’s official biography now lists them as an actor, author, and advocate — and the clearest concrete project is a debut novel.

Acting career updates

• Young Sheldon ran for seven seasons, according to PinkNews.
• Revord appeared in 141 episodes, according to The List.
• Apple TV’s talent page still lists early credits such as Grace and Frankie and Teachers.

What the record does not show is a confirmed post-Sheldon film role. “Doing today” is therefore more about writing and advocacy than casting news.

Social media and Instagram activity

• Revord’s official website is the only verified primary channel in the available record.
• No official Instagram handle is documented in the verified sources, so specific claims about posts should be treated as unverified.
• PinkNews reported the January 2025 social-media pronoun change.

If fans are looking for a daily update, the official site is the safest answer. Instagram activity is not currently part of the verified biography.

Future projects

The pattern: public career = acting + writing + advocacy. What’s missing is an agent’s announcement about the next audition, which no public record currently supports. Do Iain Armitage and Raegan Revord get along?

The evidence points to a professional yes and a personal maybe. No reported feud exists, and seven seasons of twin scenes require at least functional chemistry, according to PinkNews’s seven-season summary.

On-set dynamics during Young Sheldon

• Cast in 2017, the pair stayed together until the series ended in 2024, per Apple TV’s talent page.
• Missy and Sheldon are twins, per Wikipedia’s actor profile, so Revord and Armitage were wired into most of the same storylines.
• The List’s retrospective mentions no on-set conflicts.

That silence is not proof of friendship. It is proof that the relationship stayed professional enough to survive 141 episodes.

Public appearances together

• No joint interview about off-screen friendship appears in the reviewed sources.
• Promotional appearances around the series were standard press for Young Sheldon, not personal statements.

Interviews about their friendship

• Neither Revord nor Armitage has a widely cited quote about their personal relationship in the available record.
• What remains documented is the on-screen twin bond and the 141-episode run, per The List.

The takeaway: the relationship is real as work, unverified as friendship. Fans should not convert chemistry into a biography.

How old is Missy in season 5?

Missy is 13 in season 5 — a number that comes from the show’s calendar rather than from Revord’s official biography. The character-age math is widely repeated by fans, but the official bio does not state it.

Missy Cooper’s age progression

• Missy is Sheldon’s twin sister, per Wikipedia’s actor profile.
• The show aired seven seasons, which is why age-tracking discussions exist at all, per PinkNews.
• Fan discussions place Missy at 13 in season 5; the official bio does not specify the number.

Raegan Revord’s age vs Missy

• Revord was born on January 3, 2008, per IMDb.
• That made Revord’s real-life age and Missy’s on-screen age unusually close for a child actor.
• The middle seasons of Young Sheldon are when the two ages effectively overlap.

Character development in Young Sheldon

• Revord appeared in all 141 episodes, giving Missy a full arc from mischievous kid to grounded teenager, per The List.
• In season 5, the character sits between childhood and high school — the exact moment most searches are about.

The catch: exact ages on sitcoms are loose canon. What is certain is that Missy is Sheldon’s twin and that Revord played her through the full seven-season run; the specific “13” answer is the one fans repeat, not the one the actor’s bio certifies.

Does Raegan Revord have PTSD?

No. There is no public record of a PTSD diagnosis, and Revord has not spoken about one. The question appears to come from fan speculation rather than from anything the actor has disclosed.

PTSD speculation origins

• The speculation often starts with Missy’s more painful storylines — bullying and family dysfunction — rather than with a statement from Revord.
• No source in Revord’s official biography mentions PTSD.
• IMDb’s news aggregation page includes no verified health disclosure.

Raegan’s public statements

• The only widely reported identity statement is the coming-out coverage from PinkNews.
• That statement relates to gender identity, not mental health.
• There is no recorded quote from Revord addressing PTSD.

Mental health advocacy

• Revord’s official biography uses the word “advocate” but does not name a specific diagnosis.
• Advocacy can cover anything from child actors to LGBTQ visibility; without a direct quote, connecting it to PTSD is overreach.
• The responsible position is to report the absence, not to fill the gap.

Why this matters: a search trend is not a diagnosis. For a young actor who just went public with their gender identity, being assigned a mental-health condition by internet guessing has real reputational cost. Timeline signal

• January 3, 2008 — Born in San Diego, California, per IMDb’s cast biography.
• 2017 — Cast as Missy Cooper in Young Sheldon, per Apple TV’s talent page.
• 2017–2024 — Seven-season run as Missy Cooper, per Wikipedia.
• January 2025 — Social-media pronouns reportedly change to they/them, per PinkNews.
• September 2025 — PinkNews covers the nonbinary coming-out story.
• 2025 — Debut novel Rules for Fake Girlfriends appears on the official bio, per Revord’s official website.

The pattern: career facts are public, identity facts are recent, and personal-health facts are absent. That ordering is exactly what readers should keep in mind.

Where the record stands

The implication: the public record is split between confirmed career facts and private-life unknowns, and that split is the reliable takeaway.

Takeaway

Raegan Revord has already done the rare thing: grown up on a hit sitcom and then changed the subject on their own terms — from twin sister to author, advocate, and nonbinary public figure. The open questions remain open: no verified PTSD diagnosis, no verified marriage, no verified fortune, and no confirmed next acting role. For fans, the choice is clear: respect Raegan Revord’s pronouns, follow the career that is actually documented, and let the rumours stay rumours.
